University of Alaska Museum of the North (Fairbanks)
The University of Alaska Museum of the North is a multidisciplinary museum of natural, cultural, and art history. It is part of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), and is the only research and teaching museum in Alaska. The museum’s collections include more than 2.5 million artifacts and specimens, representing thousands of years of cultural history and millions of years of biological diversity in Alaska and the circumpolar North. Exhibits range from ancient Indigenous art and cultural artifacts to natural history specimens, wildlife displays, geology, and contemporary Alaska art.
Some of the highlights are: a 2,000-year span of Alaska art in the “Rose Berry Alaska Art Gallery,” Alaska’s largest public gold display, a nearly 50,000-year-old Ice Age steppe bison mummy, exhibits about wildlife, ecosystems, indigenous cultures, and interactive installations combining light, sound and natural phenomena. The museum also hosts rotating special exhibits, public programs, educational events, and a museum store with Alaska-related art, books, and souvenirs.

The museum is located at 1962 Yukon Drive, Fairbanks, Alaska 99775, USA — on the campus of University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Visitor parking is available adjacent to the museum.
